In this lesson, students will learn how to write and set time on a digital clock to the nearest minute. Students will review how digital clocks work, then complete several activities in which they practice writing and setting clocks to reflect the correct time on the adjustable clock tool. Students will then learn to differentiate between A.M. and P.M. and watch a video all about it.

Students will be able to properly write and set time using digital clocks to the nearest minute.
Students solve a word problem and review what they know about digital clocks.
Students look at digital clocks and vote for the answer they think shows the correct time. Then, students will practice writing and setting times in several activities. Activities include listening to various times with the text-to-speech tool and writing the time they hear. They will also set different digital clocks. Then, explain to students the difference between A.M. and P.M. and have them watch a video to further understand the concept. Students will read about different scenarios and circle the time during which each is most likely to occur. Pair students up with a classmate and have them take turns writing and reading the times on the adjustable digital clock tool.
Students respond to ten multiple-choice questions.
Students will take turns with their classmates reading and writing as many times as they can before the timer finishes.
