Students will be able to properly write and set time to the nearest minute using analog clocks.
Students will review what they know about analog clocks. Then, students will take turns with their classmates spinning the wheel and writing the time they see on the clock underneath the cover.
Begin the lesson by having students watch a video about telling, writing, and setting time on an analog clock to the nearest minute. Have students write three new facts they learned after watching the video. Then, review with students how analog clocks operate and how the little tick marks on a clock represent the minutes. Guide students in completing several activities in which they practice writing time, such as writing the times for their tennis practice so they are prepared for their match. Next, guide students in setting analog clocks on their own. Students will adjust the hands on the analog clock tool to show the correct times.
Students respond to ten multiple-choice and true or false questions.
Students will adjust each clock to show the correct time in a flower-themed activity.
