CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.2.1
Students will be able to ask and answer who, what, where, when, why, and how.
Students will think of questions to ask about an image of a dog and a cat. Explain what each question word can ask and why it is important to ask these questions.
Students will match questions to their answers. They will read a story titled, "Hugo's Lunch," and keep the 5 Ws and How in mind. After reading, they will answer those questions about the story. Next, they will read a story about Sheila's birthday and highlight important details that answer the questions, "who," "what," "where," "when," "why," and "how."
Students will answer ten questions in which they determine the who, what, why, where, when, and how to given sentences or situations.
Students will recall what they learned:
- Why is it important to ask and answer questions?
- Where do we need to look to find the answers to these questions?
Lastly, students will ask questions about a photo.
