In this lesson, students will learn the difference between the words, "they're," "there," and "their." They will learn ways to remember when to use the words and practice with several different activities.

Introduction
Students will read two sentences and discuss what they notice about the underlined words. They will draw a line to match the pictures to the correct sentence. They will also discuss homophones, words that sound alike but have different meanings, like "they're," "there," and "their."
Instruction
Students will separate contractions, like "they're" and "we're," and tell what they are made of. They will read sentences and check if the contractions make sense in the context of the sentence. Students can also use memory tricks to help them remember how to use the words. "We went here and there on our vacation." Students will read how each word is used in sentences.
Quiz
Have students review "they're," "there," and "their."
Closing
