In this lesson, students will learn how to use relative location to describe the placement of objects.
Students will be able to describe the location of things in the home, school, and community to gain an understanding of relative location.
Students will review the concept of location. Students will learn about the difference between exact and relative locations. Then they will learn about the importance of relative location.
Students will learn about relative location using examples of objects and places in their classroom and school. Then students and their teacher(s) will work together doing a drag and drop activity to put objects in their relative locations within various places (i.e. gym, library, bedroom, park). Students will locate places around their school, home, and community and then describe their relative location.
Review relative location with 10 multiple-choice questions.
Students will spin a wheel and when it lands on something in their school, they will have to describe its relative location.
