Students will be able to use regular and irregular verbs in sentences.
Students will review and name examples of verbs. They will also go over the three different verb tenses.
Explain that irregular verbs break the rules when they are used in the past tense. When an irregular verb goes from present tense to past tense, the whole word changes. For example, "eat" changes to "ate."
Students will also review regular verbs. They will read several sentences and circle the regular verbs. They will then go over more information about irregular verbs. They will look at pictures and use irregular verbs to describe what is happening in those pictures. Next, they will read sentences and circle the irregular verbs.
They will recap what they learned: Regular verbs end with the letters -ed. Irregular verbs do not follow the rules.
Students will review irregular verbs with 10 multiple-choice questions.
Students will recall what they learned in this lesson. They will spin the wheel tell if the word on which they landed is a regular or irregular verb. Lastly, they will complete sentences with irregular verbs.
