Students will be able to recognize and name the uppercase and lowercase letters H-N.
Students will match letters they have previously learned, C, D, and F, with pictures that have that beginning sound. Explain why it is important to learn upper and lowercase letters.
Students will be introduced to each letter, H-N. They will trace a path from the uppercase to the lowercase for each letter. H is for hat. I is for itch. J is jellyfish. K is for key. L is for lion. M is for mouse. N is for nest.
Students will read each letter H-N together. Students will listen to speakers read letters and identify the letter they hear. They will also "drag cars" to the parking spot with a lowercase letter. Students will then match the uppercase letters to the lowercase letters. They will play "I Spy" and search for lowercase letters.
Students will respond to ten questions in which they match uppercase to lowercase letters, and letters to pictures that start with that letter.
Students will recall what they learned:
- Why is learning the alphabet important?
- Can you name all the letters starting with H and ending with N?
Students will spin the wheel to determine which letter to identify. Lastly, they will play a memory game to match the uppercase and lowercase letters.
