Learning objective
Students will be able to recognize and print the letter Zz, as well as determine if a word has a Zz sound.
Introduction
Students will match uppercase and lowercase letters they've previously learned to their animal guides to reveal their animal guide, Zara the Zebra. They will review how to write the letter Zz.
Instruction
Zara the Zebra will have his friend, Max, demonstrate how to write the letter Zz. Students will then practice writing uppercase and lowercase Zz on the board and on their own paper. Two students can race to complete a puzzle that makes the letter Zz.
Students will then practice pronouncing words with Zz sounds. They will get to name as many words that start with the letter Zz as they can think of! They’ll also get to use their letter Zz knowledge to complete a fun activity that will help Zara on her journey through the savanna of East Africa.
