Learning objective
Students will be able to recognize and print the letter Uu, as well as determine if a word has an Uu sound.
Introduction
To reveal the guide for the lesson, students will move drag letters to their corresponding animal guides. They will review how to write the letter Tt. Students will turn Uri the Unicorn's rainbow into his favorite letter.
Instruction
Uri the Unicorn will have her friend, Max, demonstrate how to write the letter Uu. Students will then practice writing uppercase and lowercase Uu on the board and on their own paper. Two students can race to complete a puzzle that makes the letter Uu.
Students will then practice and pronounce short and long Uu sounds. They will get to name as many words that start with the Uu as they can think of! They’ll also get to use their letter Uu knowledge to complete a fun activity that will help Uri the Unicorn find the rainbow bridge!
Quiz
Review the letter Uu with 10 questions on identifying and writing the letter Uu.
Closing
Students will review how to write the letter Uu and then decorate the word, "Fun."
