Students will be able to recognize and print the letter Oo, as well as determine if a word has an Oo sound.
To reveal the guide for the lesson, students will move all words that start with Nn to the "N-cyclopedia." Students will drag O back to make Oscar the Octopus's name. They will review how to write the letter Nn.
Oscar the Octopus will have her friend, Max, demonstrate how to write the letter Oo. Students will then practice writing uppercase and lowercase Oo on the board and on their own paper. Two students can race to complete a puzzle that makes the letter Oo.
Students will then practice and pronounce short and long Oo sounds. They will get to name as many words that start with the Oo as they can think of! They’ll also get to use their letter Oo knowledge to complete a fun activity that will help Oscar the Octopus get back to his shell.
Review the letter Oo with 10 questions on identifying and writing the letter Oo.
Students will review how to write the letter Oo and then decorate the word, "No."
