In this lesson, students will learn how to find connections between two people or characters. They will do many exercises to practice this, including determining how people in pictures are connected and discussing with classmates.

Students will be able to identify the connection between two people.
Review what a connection is with students. Students will look at pictures of people and state what they have in common. They will also read short descriptions of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln and discuss their connection.
Students will determine the connection between a teacher explaining vowels and a girl learning vowels. They will also look at an image of two students playing instruments and say how they are connected. They will look at several more images, such as doctors and dentists, and say how they are connected. They will then review connections and talk to classmates about their connections.
In ten questions, students will review how to make connections between different people and characters by identifying what the connection is between two given people/images.
Students will recall what they learned about connections. They will match pictures with their related pictures. Lastly, they will participate in a spin the wheel activity that involves telling the connection between two people.
