This lesson is an “I do, we do, you do” workshop. It will go over characters, settings, and major events in a story. Students will read a few passages written by the author and answer questions about them.

Students will talk about their favorite books and why they like those books. They will look at a row of animals and identify them.
Students will be introduced to characters, settings, and major events.
I do: They will listen to the teacher read a story about a winter rabbit named Lucy. The teacher will model asking questions to self: “Who is the story about, where is the character, and what happens in the story?”
We do: Then, the teacher will read a second short story and ask students those questions.
