In this lesson, students will learn how to use correct capitalization in dates and holidays. They will do a series of activities to practice this skill.

Learning objective
Students will be able to use correct capitalization in their writing.
Introduction
Students will write their names, paying attention to the capital letter. Next, they will write today's date using capital letters. Discuss why it is important to capitalize names and dates.
Instruction
Explain to students to always capitalize the days and month of the year, as well as the holidays. They will read five sentences and determine if the capitalizations are correct. Students will correct the capitalization in four sentences. Next, they will rewrite sentences correctly.
Quiz
Students will respond to ten multiple-choice and click-on-the-word questions.
