Teaching tips
Use the searchlight tool to discover bugs on the Interactive Whiteboard! Teachers can use this lesson in segments with their students and challenge them to find the named insects in or around their own houses as well. Assignments can be created to discover more about a given insect, or for students to find an insect and learn more about it. You can also ask students to make their own bug-portfolio, in which they take pictures of all the bugs in the lesson. In a classroom setting, students can look to see if the discussed bug can be found on the playground/on school grounds.
