CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.3.1a
Students will be able to use adverbs in sentences.
Students will review adjectives and verbs. They will think of verbs that represent what a dolphin is doing in a picture.
Students will be introduced to adverbs: a word that describes a verb, adjective, or another adverb. They will look at examples of adverbs.
Students will then read sentences and decide whether the adverbs tell "when," "where," or "how." They will identify adverbs in sentences and drag the appropriate adverb to the correct sentence. They will also sort words into "Adjectives" or "Adverbs."
Students will review adverbs with 10 questions.
Students will recall what they learned about adverbs and play a Spin the Wheel activity. Lastly, they will do a think-pair-share activity and brainstorm a list of verbs and adverbs to make sentences.
